Another New Camera

Well, I did it.

I bought the second cheapest camera I could find which still cost about $50. It's a vivitar 3345 and not everything will work on it. The SDcard for one thing. Sometimes it will recognize it and other times it won't. Never has it allowed me to download pictures from the card, just from the internal memory. I guess that's no big deal since I only want to use this camera to start my ebay stuff. Once I start selling stuff, a decent camera will be one of the things I will want to buy with my profits.

In the mean time, I took the above photo of me and messed with the settings a little to make it the way it appears. I liked it enough to change my main photo to this one.

Dirty rotten digital cameras!

I won’t post a picture today.

I have had the worst experience with digital cameras. My first one was a Polaroid and it did last a few years, but then I bought a Finepix Fujifilm.

I hated that thing from day one. I hated the software and half the time I couldn’t remember how to upload my pictures to my computer. The day I dropped in on the floor and the display quit was a blessing. I finally had an excuse to buy something better.

I bought an Olympus. Arrrg! It looked so much like the Fine Pix that I knew immediately that I had made another dumb purchase. I knew it especially when the display quit on the third picture. I took it back and traded up for an HP!

Finally, a name I could trust. I love my HP LaserJet and I knew I’d love the 4.1MP.

Well, it was O.K. I didn’t like the delayed snapshots.

I’d see my granddaughter with a face I wanted to capture, snap the picture...... wait..... she’d turn her head..... finally the picture would snap and I’d catch a nice shot of her ear or something! Still, with the memory card that held over 1500 photos I was able to keep snapping until I caught something interesting, until yesterday.

My HP 4.1MP was sitting on my computer desk. I had attached a piece of Velcro to the desk and to the camera so that it couldn’t fall to the floor like the FinePix had done. The display still had the little piece of plastic protecting the screen but it was scrunched a little!

I began to have a sick feeling in my stomach as I picked the camera up and turned it on. Somehow, someway the display screen had been damaged. It looks like a broken window, white on the right black on the left a triangular crack in the middle with a big round black blob in the center, and three vertical lines – two green and one red mixed in it all!

I still have the original batteries, two double ‘A’s and they aren’t even run down yet, but the camera is junk! I’ll try to see where I can send it to be fixed. I may even send that evil FinePix off to see if that can be fixed, but I won’t try to buy another good digital camera. I’ll try to find the cheapest piece of junk on the market because I know I’ll destroy it without trying....

That seems to be my lot with digital cameras.
